August 2020

Hi Sara here! While we have been separated from our chosen family, we have been working remotely doing scrolls for our Baron and Baroness that will be stepping down. We miss each other and miss you. Take care to all and stay healthy!

2020.. Oops..

With Covid-19 being in the world and the household not meeting for our safety, I have forgotten to post in a while. To my knowledge, we are all doing well given the situation. We are working slowly on some scrolls separately and will probably start ramping up our work again soon in the near future in our own homes.

We had done a commission for someone in Avacal for a Known World Event they were supposed to have hosted this Spring, however, COVID-19 struck. I have sent a request to the autocrat ( and our adopted Avacal Herald) to see if we can post and share the work that we had done for the event and the Society. If I obtain his blessing I will be posting it here and on FB.

Stay safe and Healthy!

Stayin’ Alive!

We have started working on scrolls assignments fro KASF and Sudentorre’s Defending the Gate. Plotting and planning hijinx as we go!

Best wishes to you all!

Jan 2020

…and this is 2020!

Sara here. Sorry, I disappeared from my online websites. I had a death in the family in November dealing with that, the holiday and construction work, I lost track of time. Other members of Gigls have also have had a case of life hit; moves, new jobs…

Have no fear, Giglsworth Academy of Wigglesworth is still wiggling and giggling along. We look forward to being able to share the super-secret project we worked on for Avacal in the next few months and creating scrolls in the upcoming calendar year!  Happy New Year and Lunar New Year to you all!

October 2019 Update

One of us went to WOW, another of us has done some woodworking, another of us has done a lot of woodworking!  We have supped dinner many times, including once with our food on fire! 🙂 🙂  Sara is preparing for Crown Tournament and the remainder of us are monkeying around. Take Care!

September Update

Greetings All!

September is here and the Giggly Scribes are busy making scrolls for Stierbach’s Baronial Birthday! Mischief & Shenanigans are ready to P-A-R-T-Y at the event with the newest member of Rascals Gang (name to be determined). Jester? Imp? Rogue?

I’ll be posting the scroll images once they are awarded.

Take care!

Sara

Pennsic Letter #3

Lady Eleanor,

I am sorry to report Shenanigans is missing his buddy Mischief. I hope Mischief is surviving his first war well.

I have seen worrying evidence of him drinking out of other people’s mugs, when I know I sent him with his own. I hope he had permission.

I hope he isn’t monkeying around too much at night within your tent and allows you to get a good night’s sleep.  Please make sure he is eating well by being a good example to him.

Will he will have a chance to take the Beginning Scribal class I have heard about that Armiger Elliot is teaching?

I hope the day star, weather and humidity have been kind to you and you are able to enjoy the sights and sounds of your travels.

I have a favor to ask if this raven gets to you in time for you to take action.  Last Pennsic when we sadly had to go to war; I was introduced to a yummy drink I’d like to taste again. It was a ginger mint concoction that the Cooper’s had issues with maintaining their supply as to its unexpected enjoyment by many.  If you are able to acquire a bottle of this treat I would be oh so grateful.

The Wiggly Halls are still silent without Giggles. Even the River Ribble is un-Settle-d by the difference in the populations of Gigglewick and Wigglesworth.

I look forward to hearing your poems and laughter once again here at Giglsworth Academy of Wigglesworth.

Best Wishes,

Lady Sara van Eerde

Yes, They are my golden winged Monkeys.

Pennsic Letter #1:

To the Travelling Members of Giglsworth Academy of Wigglesworth,

The halls of Wigglesworth are silent without your Giggles. A strange echo is heard as I walk through its halls.  We all at home pray that peace is maintained in the Debatable Lands. They were so generous and kind to host us while we studied heraldic and scribal arts a little over a year ago.

I worry for your safety as I have heard war is pending. I fear the worst has befallen Tarou Makoto for we have not heard from him in many months. Maybe Karl the Mead Drinker has heard of his well-being?

Shenanigans has not been the same without Mischief, he is putting a brave face on and helping with the Winged Monkeys which I have sent out daily to check on the Baronial herd.  I am happy to report that Their Excellency’s (of Stierbach) herd is safe and sound. The bulls are having fun running. Shenanigans and I have been attempting to weed out any pocket-sized monsters from their lands with some success in order to keep the young bovines safe.

Shenanigans, Lady Janna, and I are leaning on each other for comfort while you all are absent in such hotly contested lands.

We eagerly await news of your wellbeing.

My love to you all,

Lady Sara van Eerde

Your Worried Ringleader

Pennsic War XLVIII

Oh My! it’s June!!!

Sara Here: Oh My! I can’t believe it has been six months since I last updated this site. Please forgive me. Priorities have shifted since I became Atlantia’s Kingdom MOL and I lost track of time.

What the household has been up to our normal shenanigans scrolls, commissions and Hijinx. 🙂

In the past six months, our household badge has been accepted by the Society College of Arms, we made Elliot design and illuminate their own Coral Branch Scroll (with His Majesty’s Permission), worked on the AOA scroll for Lady Janna Wigglesworth of Giggleswick right under her nose (She is our art Patron),  and have been working on a super secret hush, hush commission of what Lady Eleanor calls the ‘goldfish’ map for our household’s Herald that lives Avacal. I hope to be able to post more news on that with his permission in the coming months. 🙂

The next few months we will busy for a few of us as some prepare for Pennsic. Armiger Elliot, our youngest scribe in the household, will be teaching a class at Pennsic an intro to scribal arts.  If I can get more information from them, I will post about it here to help promote their class. 🙂

Our Registered Badge is: (Fieldless) A winged monkey sejant erect sinister (aka contourny) guardant Or maintaining an artist’s paintbrush proper.

We now have two adopted monkeys from Build a Bear: Mischief (whom I have posted about in the past) and Shenanigans (our new guy). Mischief was attending in Jedi Robes and has now decided Kilts are in vogue. Shenanigans has been wearing armour carrying a sword and a rose. They are enjoying looking at all the options of garb possibilities and are looking to expand their SCA wardrobe as soon as the Adult’s Pennsic sewing is done. I hope to get them some golden wings made too.

I’ll post photos of our artwork soon I hope.

Until Next time!

Happy New Year 2019!

A very merry Happy New Year!  We hope that this new year brings good fortune and good health to all.  Some of the family members got together for R&R playing D&D on New Year’s Day.

We have been busy scribbling away on our two assignments for Twelfth Night, completing research for a commission and working on a Kingdom Backlog scroll.

Sara has revamped some of the technology on the backend of the website relating to image management and display. She has already updated the portfolio page and is working on the other images displayed throughout the site.
