Giggly Scribes Antics

The Scribes of the House seemed to have developed a knack for being sneaky, goofy or just plain giggly.  Here remains a living history of the antics so far…

First Act: Stierbach Baronial Birthday and Investure (AS 52)

The first incident lays on all the shoulders of the head of the household. When her up and coming Baron asked for a scroll for one of the members of the house, she asked do you have an issue if he works on it? His Nex-cellency at the time said, go for it!

So Sara plotted and planned, designed and obtained Japanese translation of the scroll’s text. Sara went on and did the Japanese Calligraphy and assigned Makoto the task of doing the illumination and stamp fro the scroll, telling him the scroll was for one of our friends that is a Japanese reenactor :).  The scroll was made on Rice paper 11″ high and 54″ wide. A backup scroll was done secretly in case something happened in transit. Low and behold at the event it was deemed too windy to safely use the large scroll in court, the Court Herald was delighted to hear of the 1/3 scale replica of the scroll and used it for court.

Low and behold Sanada Tarou Makoto was called into court and when he saw the scroll thought, ‘Huh, that looks a lot like the scroll I did.’. When the Court Herald announced that the Scroll was completed by the Giggleswick Scribes of Wigglesworth with the Illuminator being Sanada Tarou Makoto the whole court roared with laughter and the hijinx within the household was born.

Second Act: Holiday Faire (AS 52)

Sara recently stepped up as our Barony’s Clerk Signet. She was tasked with finding scribes to complete 15 scrolls in three weeks. The Gigglesworth Academy of Scribes of Wigglesworth took on five of those fifteen scrolls.

My Baron ( Sara is going to leave her Baroness blameless in this story, even though she know Her Excellency is tricky in her own right), Sara’s dear friends and housemates snuck one by her.   His Excellency (Sara’s assumption) contacted members of the Academy to complete a scroll for Sara for this event without her knowledge. So the technically disinterested hopped on to the interwebs to contact the other household scribe to plot and plan the scroll.

Makoto ended up illuminating 4 scrolls and Eleanor completed calligraphy on all six, plus ended up being a combat scribe for Their Excellencies three hours before court knocking out a promissory note for court for a scroll that had not made it to the event.

Third Act: Defending the Gate (AS 53)

After a quick discussion with His Majesty (and with his knowledge), Sara assigned the design and illumination of a Coral Branch AOA scroll to the person receiving it, Elliot.

Also, Giglsworth was assigned the AOA scroll to Janna Wigglesworth of Giggleswick (Our Patron and inspiration for our name). While Gilding and writing the first word on the scroll Janna saw it and was encouraging us.
